Palimpsest
pal.imp.sest noun - something re-used or altered but still bearing visible traces of its earlier form
Palimpsest is a series of paintings that explores the passage of time, the layers of a life lived, and the process of remembering. Through the use of expanding and contracting color fields I express a sense of place and emotion. With repeated shapes and mark-making, I explore the patterns and people that have left impressions. I strive to create a personal history- altering moments, memories, and relationships, while leaving traces of what remains.
